Why the file comes from us

Google serves extension packages as application/x-chrome-extension. When Chrome meets that content type on another site's link it tries to install the extension rather than save it, and the install then fails on permissions. Serving a copy from this domain as an ordinary attachment is what makes the file actually land in your downloads folder.

How to read the source code

  1. Download the .crx file above.
  2. Drop it onto the extractor on the CRX Extractor home page. Everything runs in your browser; the file is never uploaded.
  3. Save the result as a .zip and open it like any other archive.
